		<description>No, timber was just on of many diffrent bussiness.  But the need for building materils and mine and railroads chewed up many forests in the west.  A big sore point with many Indians was the destruction of many woods along the wagon train trails for fire wood.  A good stand of timber near any settelment was a money maker for a smart bussiness man.</description>

		<description>In the fifth picture, in the above article, it shows a large set of wheels  used to move large logs.  This was done by lifting the end of the log off the ground up underthe axle,  then the tail end of the log was draged along the ground.  A set of these large wheels may be seen at the entrance of Knott&#039;s Berry Farm, in Calif.</description>

		<description>As you maybe noted the photos, added by my daughter, are from East Texas alone.  Think of all the other areas of the country that were logged at the same time.  Most of the time we think of the Northwest or Northeast logging industry only.</description>
