Thank you so much for the visit and the information. My only source of information is from various books and other web sites. So much of my information is fifth hand at the best. We only have what others have researched and written and their info is only what others remember and offer. It is always good to hear family history ,from family. Thanks again.

Bub or Bud Trainor was Thomas J. Trainor and he was married to Olive Obsorne and perhaps others. He was a descendant of the Oconastota.
Also, Nancy Grease (Nuci Goie) Ned’s last wife, would later marry Ned’s brother Jack Christie and have a family. She had two children with Ned, but both died. Nancy was the daughter of Arley Chrisite and Ned Grease. Some of the family do say Ned isn’t buried where his headstone is, but is buried where Nancy was buried. The site was bulldozed in the 1980s, and her headstone in in my garage. Nancy was my step-great grandmother, and was like a mother to my grandmother. Her mother, Jennie Tucker, died when she was small, and Jack later married Nancy. Jennie Tucker’s sister, Peggy Tucker, was Ned’s first wife and the mother of his only son to live into his teen years, Jim Christie. I live in Talala, OK and love any history relating to Talala. When I read this today, July 7th, 2009, about Bub Trainor dying in Talala, it greatly intrigued me. We published a Talala History book some years ago and some stories I know weren’t in it. Does anyone have anything to add about Trainor that would be interesting to know?

I’m reading “The Branch and the Scaffold” by Loren Estleman. It is blurbed as a novel, but I wonder how much factual details are in it. I realize that we can never know the truth of things we didn’t witness ourselves — and maybe not even then. In any case it’s a good read.

i know ned’s great garndnephew, lester, who told me ned isnt buried where the gravestone is…….les took me to a spot in the woods where he says ned is interred.
im workin on a graphic novel bout ned,,,,,,,,,,

According to one of my books, the photo of Ned Christie with weapons was taken before his troubles began, while he was a still respected blacksmith and gunsmith.

All the photos above were added by my Daughter. The Grave stone is that of Ned Christie. All the information was also gleaned from the inter-net, A lot, from a article on a history site, from a article reprinted by “Bonnie Sthalman Spears”.
